COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Project Navigator – Atlantic (PNA) excels at managing complex projects, mobilizing people, and informing and aligning diverse stakeholders. In an increasingly global world, we recognize the need to balance our clients’ budgets and schedules while addressing the community’s environmental and economic concerns. Project Navigator’s community relations team has extensive experience in developing and managing public participation programs that engage local communities and other stakeholders at an appropriate level to help prevent project delays and cost escalation – while meeting client goals and expectations.
We are currently working on major remediation projects where respectful, understandable, open communication with local business, school, and community stakeholders is crucial.
Our community relations team, on a regular basis, proactively performs the following functions:
Planning and Presentations – We are strong advocates for our clients and routinely host public information meetings that help inform the community and provide site information, and project milestones. These meetings also provide a forum to address questions and allow the public to express concerns related to project activities.
Creation of Public Websites – PNA routinely creates public websites for many of our projects. These websites are established to provide site-related information and current site activities to the public.
Creation of Pixel-Based Information Systems – We developed a unique online tool for information management – the pixel-based information system. With this system, information is displayed under a pixel grid that is overlaid on an aerial photograph of the site. Information of any kind can be easily linked and displayed and this technique is cost-effective and user friendly. The tool can be password protected and usedinternally or it can be used to provide public access.

Project Visualization Tools – The ability to articulate and communicate project information is a core culture and competency of PNA. We possess graphical capabilities to rigorously convert even the most complex scenarios into visually appealing and understandable graphics, which help align project stakeholders. Visual tools that we commonly employ include:
Preparation of Community Involvement Plans (CIPs), Fact Sheets & Press Releases – PNA has extensive experience in working with regulators and City governments to create CIPs that promote cross-communication to assure maximum meaningful public involvement. Additionally, PNA is skilled at preparing fact sheets and press releases quickly and cost-effectively.
Facilitate Public Charrettes - The public approval process can often be time consuming and fraught with problems. The public charrette has emerged as a tool to strategize and create design ideas for Brownfield sites. PNA has participated in these collaborative planning processes and we find that on select projects the charrette process is useful to identify and solve design problems prior to design and construction activities.
Building Relationships – PNA places particular emphasis on building strong relationships with project stakeholders. When stakeholders and the project team have a relationship built on trust, they can work together more quickly and produce better results.
Better Relationships = Better Results
